Our Social Responsibility

The sad reality is that due to a lack of awareness and preparedness for the lockdown, there was a huge shortage of food materials for the needy families in the communities where Happy Horizons Trust works.

  • COVID19 & HUNGER CRISIS
  • The Kosi region in Bihar is home to many of the migrants that have left Delhi NCR, Maharashtra, Kerela and other parts of India.
  • During COVID19 lockdown, thousands migrated back to Bihar and faced issues of shortage of food and shelter. Apart from this, there are many families in the region who live in extreme poverty and were dependent on daily work and menial jobs to make ends meet.
  • The question on everyone’s mind was how will I feed my family!
HHT COVID19 RELIEF WORK SYNOPSIS
HELPED 2235 FAMILIES SO FAR
13359 FAMILY MEMBERS
SPREAD ACROSS 60 VILLAGES AND TOLAS
SAHARSA DISTRICT
BIHAR

Happy Horizons Trust, in collaboration with the local government officials, undertook a task to provide food to identified needy families. The funds raised were used for the distribution of food packets to needy families, who are facing a crisis during the lockdown period. A part of the funds raised was used to support children’s education impacted due to school closure.

We coordinated with the local panchayat level heads to identify the needy families and compiled a list. The list was then sent to our Project Managers for verification.

The team of volunteers created food packets in the morning. In the afternoon, they headed out to the different village(s) for distribution.

On reaching the village, they verified the family’s existence, their financial status, their need for food supplies.

Thank you for your contributions.

With your blessings, we have distributed dry ration to 2235 families by now.
